I am a lifelong Republican and once served as the head of the Sanford Republicans. I am calling on all Republicans in the state to support whoever will run against Sen. Susan Collins in the 2020 Republican primary.

Furthermore, if Sen. Collins manages to win the primary, I believe all Republicans should vote for her Democratic opponent in the general election.

I know I will work for anyone who opposes her and will encourage all the Republicans I know to actively work to see that she no longer represents the Maine Republican Party in Washington, D.C.

It pains me to take this position, but she must go. She has become part of the swamp and must be purged. It is time for her to retire. She may not realize it, but she has become a member of the Democrat Party and has lost her way. She should leave now with her considerable legacy intact.
