CONCORD, N.H. — Gas prices have dropped a bit in northern New England.

GasBuddy’s daily survey of gas outlets in Maine found that average retail gasoline prices in the state have gone down 1.5 cents last week to an average of $2.82 per gallon. Prices in New Hampshire decreased 1.4 cents per gallon, to an average of $2.79. In Vermont, prices went down nearly a penny per gallon from last week’s $2.88.

The national average is $2.82 per gallon. It’s dropped 1.6 cents per gallon in the last month and stands 55.4 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
