WATERBORO — Fire swept through an auto repair shop on Barb’s Way off West Road in Waterboro on Tuesday night.

No one was injured in the blaze at the Diversified Service Center.

Waterboro Fire Chief Matt Bors said the fire was reported at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday.

In a news release issued around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Bors said that a Waterboro patrol deputy from the York County Sheriff’s Office was in the area and responded to assist.

“Upon arrival (the deputy) reported fire from all four sides of a garage repair shop,” Bors wrote.

Waterboro Fire Department was assisted by fire crews from Alfred, Hollis, Sanford and the Goodwin’s Mills Fire Department of Dayton and Lyman.

The fire remains under investigation.

The property owned by Brian and Lori Gagne.

Firefighters were on scene until 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The commercial garage sustained fire damage inside, but a separate family home nearby was not affected.
