BRUNSWICK —  The driver of a refrigerated box truck carrying 60-70 crates of live lobster has non-life threatening injuries after the truck he was driving rolled over on the shoulder of Route 1 north at approximately 11:30 a.m. Aug. 22.

According to police, Jose Albino Horrach, 39, of South Portland, who was driving a vehicle registered to Cozy Harbor Seafood Inc. of Portland, was transported to Midcoast Hospital for treatment.

The truck had “extensive damage,” according to a press release from the Brunswick Police Department. The lobsters inside the truck were contained in their crates “for the most part,” though the release states some broke open as a result of the crash.

“Members of the police and fire departments assisted in salvaging cargo,” the release states. “Representatives from Cozy Harbor arrived and took possession of the cargo.”

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Brunswick Police Department’s Patrol Division.
