FREEPORT — Freeport Community Services is accepting nominations for the Carol Kaplan Award.  The award recognizes an individual who has a demonstrated positive effect on the clients of Freeport Community Services and/or the organization itself. The award will be presented at the FCS Annual meeting in October.

The Award is named in memory of Carol Kaplan who worked closely with FCS for many years as the Freeport’s general assistance administrator.

“The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate an individual whose tireless efforts helps contribute to the FCS mission” said Executive Director Paula Paladino.

Last year’s recipient was Edrol Sandy, a longtime, dedicated Freeport Community Services vlunteer.

Nomination forms are available at www.fcsmaine.org  or at the Freeport Community Services office at 53 Depot St. Nominations must be completed and returned by Sept. 24.  They may be emailed to Executive Director Paula Paladino at ppaladino@fcsmaine.org or mailed to Freeport Community Services, P.O. Box 119, Freeport, ME 04032.

This year’s Freeport Community Services’ Annual Meeting will be held on Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bradley Room and the Freeport Community Services Community Center.  The keynote speaker will be Dr. Heidi Weirman, a specialist in geriatric medicine with MaineHealth.
