Brunswick – Gertrude Louise Yanok Heath, 89, passed away peacefully at home on September 28th surrounded by her loving family. Born May 28, 1929, the daughter of George and Anna Yanok Sr., Trudy was raised in Brunswick, Maine.  She married Edmund Heath in 1946. Together they had eight children and lived throughout the United States; however, Trudy always called the Brunswick and Harpswell area home.

In 1980, Trudy met Gary Beattie, the love of her life and companion of 33 years. Together, they shared their love for each other and life.  They built their cottage in Harpswell, a special place which became home and a gathering place that Trudy and the family hold very dear to their hearts.  The cottage was a place where many memories were made. Trudy was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend who was kind, selfless and always helping others.

Living a full life, Trudy was a talented artist and seamstress. Always a caregiver, she raised her eight children and cared for others her whole life. She loved to dance, sing and listen to music. She enjoyed attending the theater, gardening, traveling, her animals, and the ocean. Her smile, laughter and blue eyes could light up a room.

One  of 10 children, Trudy is survived by her sister, Helen Perry; and brother, Albert Yanok; her children, James Heath, MaryAnn Heath, Melinda and Ragu Pasupulati, Roxanne Moody, Michael and Beth Heath, Timothy and Kathleen Heath, Matthew and Sue Heath and son-n-law James LeMaster; seventeen grandchildren, grand-dogs and many great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Sandralee LeMaster, daughter-in-law Tessa Heath, and her beloved companion Gary Beattie.

The family would like to thank the wonderful health care providers at CHANS for their support and care. There will be a private gathering for family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in support of Trudy’s great-granddaughter Amelia Churchill, and her fight against Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
