FRYEBURG — The Freeport High School girls soccer team improved to 8-3-2 with a solid 6-0 Western Maine Conference win over Fryeburg Academy on Tuesday.

Cat Gould had five goals for the Falcons, while Rachel Wall added one off a Gould assist. Carly Intraversato and Wall each picked up two assists, with a helper going to Allison Greuel.

In net, Leah Rusiecki had four saves and Becca Pierce turned away two in relief. Freeport held a 25-5 shot advantage.

The Falcons are home on Friday against undefeated Cape Elizabeth, with the game slated to begin at 6 p.m.

Maranacook 1Morse 2

The host Shipbuilders picked up a big Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win, handing the Black Bears their first loss (8-1-3) at McMann Field.

Wren Tetreault gave Morse a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game before Maranacook’s Kate Ide tied the contest off a pass from Kaylee Jones.

With four minutes left until halftime, Julia Cliffe finished off a pass from Mary LaRochelle for a 2-1 Shipbuilder edge.

From there, the goaltenders took over, with Morse’s Abby Sreden and Maranacook’s Skye Webb each making eight saves.

Morse is 5-5-2 and visits Gardiner on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Mt. Ararat 2Mt. Blue 1

Eliza Libby scored on a penalty kick with 4:31 to go to lift Mt. Ararat over Mt. Blue in KVAC action in Farmington.

Reese Turcotte also scored for the Eagles, who improved to 7-5 and hosts Edward Little on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Goalie Abby Sirois made seven saves for Mt. Ararat.

Lexi Mittelstadt scored off of an assist from Emma White for the Cougars (2-9-1). Goalie Mackenzie Libby made 17 saves.

Boys soccer

BRUNSWICK — Brunswick continued its late season surge by downing Camden Hills, 4-0, in KVAC play on Senior Night.

The Dragons improved to 6-4-2 with their fifth straight win.

The home side consistently pressured Camden for the first 10 minutes before forcing an own goal to take the lead.

Brunswick doubled the lead six minutes later when Josh Musica stripped his opponent of the ball, beat a defender and found the back of the net.

Both teams traded chances throughout the second half before the Dragons found the back of the net when Luke Cheseldine ripped home a shot from the top of the box.

Captain Everett Horch finished the scoring with 20 minutes remaining when he collected a long punt from Dragon netminder Jack McDiarmid (seven saves) and dribbled pass two defenders for the breakaway goal.

Matt Kremin had 14 stops for the Windjammers.

Brunswick is slated to host Lewiston on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Mt. Blue 1Mt. Ararat 4

Ethan Rac answered a Mt. Blue goal early in the second half, and Rac added an insurance goal as the host Eagles picked up a KVAC win at Riverside Field in Topsham.

Elias Theberge staked Mt. Ararat (10-1-1) with a 1-0 halftime lead off an assist from Travis Nadeau with 8:32 remaining in the first half.

But Mt. Blue tied the contest when Sam Smith scored just 1:28 into the second half.

Rac, off a setup from Nate Taylor and Nadeau, gave the Eagles the lead for good four minutes later, and Nadeau’s third assist put Mt. Ararat ahead by two with 18:28 remaining.

Eli Ouellette finished the scoring off a pass from Maximo Varela with 1:26 left.

James Singleton had four saves in the win, with Cougar netminder Zander Gurney turning away eight shots.

Lisbon 3Dirigo 0

Elijah Fullerton scored two second-half goals as Lisbon pulled away for a Mountain Valley Conference win over Dirigo at Dixfield.

D.J. Douglass scored in the first half for the Greyhounds (4-7-1) for a 1-0 halftime lead.

Goalie Loegan Hodgkins made 14 saves for the Cougars (2-12), while Levi Levesque stopped eight for Lisbon, which hosts Mountain Valley on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
