BRUNSWICK, ME — The Merrymeeting Food Council is Flight Deck Brewery’s featured organization during October’s “Brews for a Cause” event in Brunswick on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. The Merrymeeting Food Council is a collaborative network of farms, fisheries, businesses, nonprofits, government and individuals working to advance the food system in the 14 towns surrounding Merrymeeting Bay.
“We are eager to celebrate the local food system at this local brewery,” says the Council’s chair Lynne Holland.
During the evening, Merrymeeting Food Council will host a “Map-A-Thon” for local businesses, such as farms, fishermen, local food producers, meal sites, and any other food-related businesses or organizations. All business information collected will be added to the Maine Food Atlas.
A silent auction, part of the sales, and all the tips from the evening will go to support the work of the Merrymeeting Food Council.
