Mt. Ararat’s golf team stole the show this fall, winning its first Class A state championship.
Kassidy Dixon and her Brunswick/Mt. Ararat volleyball teammates made the playoffs again this fall.
The 2018 fall sports season once again was one of triumph and making memories.
Mt. Ararat’s golf squad was the lone local team champion.
Brunswick’s football team made a spirited run to the Class B state final, but the Dragons’ title dream ended there with a 49-0 loss to Marshwood. Morse and Mt. Ararat also qualified for the playoffs and lost in their respective quarterfinals.
The soccer pitch saw high drama, as the Mt. Ararat boys reached the Class A North Final before losing to Lewiston. Brunswick lost in the quarterfinals, while Morse was ousted in the preliminary round.
On the girls’ side, Brunswick got to the Class A North semifinals before losing. Mt. Ararat fell in the quarterfinals, while Morse lost in the preliminary round.
Mt. Ararat’s field hockey team was the lone local squad to reach the playoffs, but the Eagles lost to Messalonskee in the quarterfinals.
The Brunswick/Mt. Ararat co-op volleyball team reached the playoffs, but lost to Cheverus in the Class A preliminary round.
Cross country saw Mt. Ararat standout Lisandro Berry-Gaviria win the Class A individual crown and help the Eagles to a seventh-place team finish. Brunswick placed fourth. Mt. Ararat’s girls were fourth, while Brunswick finished 15th.
