SACO – Jeffrey S. Cote, 36, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.

Jeff was born June 9, 1982 in Biddeford, Maine, the son of Andre and Susan (Dumas) Cote.  He grew up in Arundel, Maine and graduated from Thornton Academy High School in 2000.

Jeff worked as a construction superintendent for Energy Homes, Inc., the family business. As a jack-of-all-trades his tremendous versatility and adaptability allowed him to excel on the construction site and successfully tackle projects of all types and complexities. Whether the job entailed carpentry, painting, operating or repairing heavy equipment, welding, improvising a quick fix, or a broad range of other tasks, Jeff could complete the work, and complete it well.

He was a tremendously generous, caring and compassionate man who was always willing to help those in need, often placing the wellbeing of others above his own. His charismatic and kind nature allowed him to develop and maintain many lasting friendships.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, walking or canoeing along the Saco River, walks on the beach, and playing the occasional practical joke. He was also a talented cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for friends and love ones. Above all, he treasured spending time with his son, Tristin, who he considered his greatest gift in life.

Jeff is survived by his son Tristin Cote of Waterboro; parents Andre and Susan Cote of Waterboro; his sister Amy Labonte and her husband Jason of Saco; his brother Timothy Cote and his wife, April of Scarborough; and his girlfriend of two years Jennifer Molloy of Saco and her children, Kelsey and Della, who Jeff cared for as his own. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held for family members.
