CAPE ELIZABETH — Three South Portland women were appointed to Gov. Janet Mills’ staff.

Elise Baldacci, 31, and Bethany Beausang, 47, were both named senior policy advisers. Dorian Cole, 39, was appointed director of constituent correspondence.

Baldacci served as the vice president of governmental affairs for the Maine Credit Union League, according to a Dec. 31, 2018, announcement. Before that, she worked for Maine Street Solutions and advocated for state and national clients in Augusta.

Beausang most recently served as a district representative and counsel to U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, from 2011-2018. She previously practiced law at Preti Flaherty in Portland.

In their new capacities, Baldacci and Beausang will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of legislative issues, advising Mills on those issues, and serving as liaisons to the Legislature.

Cole, who will be responsible for responding to correspondence sent to Mills by Maine people on policy issues, also worked for Pingree, from 2012-2018 as a legislative correspondent. Most recently she was an account executive at Mach3Media.
