LYMAN  — A Lyman resident is enjoying 2019 after winning big on a Maine State Lottery scratch-off ticket.

Richard M. Olin of Lyman collected $20,000 from a $2 “Lucky Dog” ticket that he purchased at Country Goods & Groceries in Shapleigh.

In the “Lucky Dog” game participants are asked to match any of their scratch-off dogs to a winning dog to win a prize. Scratching off and revealing a “Dog House” symbol doubles the prize amount.

“Lucky Dog” tickets were first distributed in Maine starting in September.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 4.43.

The odds for Olin to win the highest instant prize were 1 in 240,000.

A total of 960,000 “Lucky Dog” tickets were printed for the scratch-off game.
