BATH – Maine 2nd District Congressman Jared Golden has been named to the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee that has jurisdiction over Navy and Marine Corps acquisitions, along with shipyard operations including Bath Iron Works, and is responsible for maritime programs.

He was also named to the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee that has jurisdiction over Army and Air Force acquisition programs.

“I pursued these subcommittee assignments to help protect thousands of good jobs for Maine people in my district and make sure American servicemembers are well-equipped to defend our country,” said Golden in a news release. “On the Seapower Subcommittee, I plan to fight for our shipyard jobs and make sure our kids and grandkids can count on ‘Bath-built is best-built’ far into the future. As a former enlisted guy, I’ll use my position on the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee to make sure our troops on the ground have the tools they need to do their jobs.”
