PORTLAND — A revaluation of city properties that begins next month will be conducted by Tyler Technologies CLT Appraisal Services.

City spokeswoman Jessica Grondin announced the firm was selected in a Jan. 22 news release. Tyler, which is based in Plano, Texas, and has offices in Yarmouth, also conducted the last full revaluation of city properties in 2006.

“The project will kick-off in mid-February and Tyler will have staff in the field by April 2019 to capture updated street-level images and perform data reviews of each property,” Grondin said.

Property owners should expect the first mailings about the revaluation in March, Grondin said.

The revaluation data and results are expected to be ready for fiscal year 2021 tax bills. The total amount of taxable properties could reach $11 billion, city Assessor Chris Huff said last June.

Grondin said Tyler will also handle the appeals process when the revaluation is completed.
