FREEPORT —  Caroline Smith recorded 13 points and eight rebounds, and Rachel Wall added eight points and 11 rebounds as Freeport extended its girls’ high school basketball winning streak to seven games Thursday night with a 30-23 Western Maine Conference victory over Lake Region.

Freeport (14-2) opened a 17-5 halftime lead with a 13-3 edge in the second half.

Brooke Harriman led Lake Region (6-10) with 10 points.

The Falcons are slated to visit Wells on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Boys basketball

MONMOUTH — Connor Davies scored a game-high 24 points to pace Monmouth Academy to a run-away 63-31 Mountain Valley Conference victory over Wiscasset.

The Mustangs (12-5) led 21-6 after one quarter and 35-11 at the half. Dylan Lajoie added 12 points, and eight different Monmouth players scored.

Matthew Chapman led the Wolverines (1-15) with eight points, while Josh Gabriele and Haiden Dunning pitched in with seven and six, respectively.

Lisbon 36

Keegan Davis had 28 points as Mountain Valley defeated Lisbon in MVC play.

Dylan Desroches chipped in with 11 points for the Falcons (14-2).

Seth Tapley had 13 points for the Greyhounds (9-7), while Ring Ring had eight points.

Lisbon visits Oak Hill on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Girls hockey

BRUNSWICK — Caroline Tracey had a goal and two assists to lead the Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland Red Hornets to a 4-2 victory over Brunswick at Sidney J. Watson Arena.

Sophia Hartley, Taylor Cailler and Sophia Castanga also scored for the Red Hornets (13-3-1), and Maranda Guimond made 13 saves.

Harriet Peabody and Elena Palmer scored for the Dragons, who finished the season with a 2-15-1 record. Nadia Leiner made 21 saves.
