PORTLAND — A 41-question online survey seeks input on public safety and how well the Police Department is serving the city.

Found at https://bit.ly/2Rwvqge, the survey responses will provide guidance for the department in community policing, crime reduction and strengthening community relationships, city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said in a Jan. 30 news release.

The survey will be available through March 1.

Within the survey – also online at the city website, and the Police Department website and Facebook page – are questions about where respondents live, family situations and particular concerns about violent and nonviolent crimes.

The survey is being conducted with support from the University of New England School of Social Work, which helped write the questions and will compile and analyze response data.
