PORTLAND — Taxpayers who may eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit can get free help filing returns on Saturday, Feb. 9.
Super Refund Saturday, hosted by KeyBank and the United Way of Greater Portland’s CA$H initiative, will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, 75 Washington Ave.
The tax credit is available to low- and moderate-income earners, regardless of whether they owe income taxes or are required to file returns. According to the IRS, 25 million eligible workers or families received about $63 billion in refunds last year.
The tax preparation is free, but the event requires pre-registration by calling 289-7013 or emailing CASH@goodwillnne.org. Details on what documentation to bring for filing returns is online at https://bit.ly/2sTt7Kh.
