I am writing to express the gratitude of the Foreside Community Church and, I am sure, Grace Street Ministry, for your well-written Jan. 17 article regarding the church’s sock drive to benefit Grace Street and their ministry to people experiencing homelessness. We are still receiving a steady stream of donations. Just this morning, a package was found at the office door mailed directly to the church in which four pairs of men’s boot socks were “gifted” by an anonymous donor. At least six individuals who do not worship here or live in the community have separately dropped off sock donations. Each and every one shared that they read your article and were moved to help. The donations also netted two sock hats and two pairs of mittens or gloves. I have also been informed that a number of sock donations have also been dropped off at the Falmouth Food Pantry for the same collection.

We are blessed as a congregation: by the spirit of our members, by the opportunity to be able to serve our neighbors in need, and by a wider community that responds with generosity, care, and partnership with us.
