The Harraseeket Inn in Freeport continues their weekly Dinner Series with five remarkable menus, beginning March 1 with Indian Night.

The Friday evening dinners begin at 6 p.m. and are all priced at $55 per person, plus tax and tip. Beverages may be purchased separately.

March 8 is a Beer Dinner, March 15 features foods from Spain, March 22 is Asian Night, and March 29 is a Taste of New England.

I don’t generally provide reviews for these events, but I have attended most of Chef Troy Mains’ dinners over the last two years and have been delighted every time. The flavors range from subtle to bold and are always surprising. Servings are generous and the value is truly unbeatable. He offers some extraordinary opportunities for adventurous dining.

March 1

The Brunswick Inn, Ramen by the Fire Night, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Steaming bowls of noodles and broth on a cold night. Selections are individually priced and very affordable. Choice of vegetarian or pork and chicken broth is available; 165 Park Row, Brunswick, 729-4914, reservations recommended.

March 2

Bow Street Market, New Wines for Spring Tasting, 3-5:30 p.m.; 79 Bow St., Brunswick, 865-6631, free.

March 3

Tao Yuan Restaurant, Dim Sum Brunch. Special menu filled with traditional regional dishes, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. This brunch continues their gastronomic tour of China, which runs through May 26; 22 Pleasant St., Brunswick, 725-9002, reservations highly recommended, $48 per person.

Maine Beer Co. now serves wood-fired pizza in their tasting room. Monday-Saturday 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; 525 U.S. Route 1, Freeport, 221-5711.

Moderation Brewing is re-launching their Prohibition Pint Club, which offers a special glass to take home, a Moderation lapel pin, 16-ounce. pours for the price of 12 ounces, discounts on cans and bottles, and special releases and parties for club members.
