A police honor guard Thursday opens the funeral for Gorham’s School Resource Officer Wayne “Pooch” Drown in the field house at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham. More than 2,500 people gathered to remember and honor Drown, including family, friends, students and representatives from other police departments. Drown died Feb. 24 at Maine Medical Center.
Some of the estimated 2,500 mourners leave funeral services for Gorham School Resource Officer Wayne “Pooch” Drown Thursday and wait for shuttle buses at the Costello Sports Complex at the Univerity of Southern Maine campus in Gorham.
