KENNEBUNK — Award-winning pianist Dr. Hsiang Tu will perform Claude Debussy’s Twelve Etudes for Piano at  7 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Kennebunk.

This masterpiece, completed in 1915, is the last Debussy’s composed for piano.
“Each étude presents the pianist with not only a multitude of technical challenges but also endless interpretive riddles,” Tu said. “Even today, these pieces can surprise and perplex, and to hear them all in one recital is an experience not to be missed.”
Other late works by Debussy will also be included during the performance.
Tu holds a Doctorate in Piano Performance from Julliard and now teaches at the University of New Hampshire . He was praised in the New York Times for his eloquent sensitivity at the piano.
A reception will follow the concert.  Tickets are $10 at the door, children are free.
