WESTBROOK – Mildred E. Munn, 74, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Avita of Stroudwater in Westbrook, Maine. Mildred was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Brunswick, to Arthur A. and Ruth (Prince) Hummer. She graduated from Brunswick High School with the class of 1963. Not long after, she married her high school sweetheart, Wesley Munn, and moved across the globe to Adelaide, Australia. In 1970, she returned to Maine and settled in Durham. Mildred served on the planning board in Durham. She was also a licensed medical coder and notary public. She retired in 2012 as medical billing manager at Mid Coast Hospital. Mildred was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who was quick to lend a hand and provide a warm hug. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You would often find her gardening, listening to music and enjoying the holidays. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Munn; and a brother, Frank Hummer. She is survived by a son, Christopher Munn and his wife, Emily Moll, of Brunswick; a son, Jeffery Munn and fiancé, Angela Merrill, of Durham; a daughter, Stephanie (Munn) Gabaree and her husband, Ronald Gabaree II of Windham. She has four wonderful grandsons, Ross Munn, Nicholas Munn, Simon Gabaree, and Stuart Gabaree. She also has a brother, Alan Hummer; and sister-in-law, Anne McLoughlin; and sister-in-law, Nancy (Hummer) Holmes, all of Brunswick. Mildred has many cherished brothers and sisters-in-law in Australia and Massachusetts. She loved her extended international family, and adored her many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., in Brunswick. Interment will be held later in the spring at the Lunt Cemetery in Brunswick.
