PORTLAND — Circus Olé will open the “In the Square” public entertainment season at Congress Square Park at 6 p.m. Friday, May 3.
Dela Murphy, executive director of Friends of Congress Square Park, said the performance is one of 200 events planned at the park at Congress and High streets, next to the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel.
Murphy said the schedule, online at congresssquarepark.org, includes free films, live music, theater, and dance through September, as well as interactive events like tai chi classes.
The Friends will also celebrate the organization’s five-year anniversary with a community supper Aug. 31 at 6 p.m.
