PORTLAND — A Oxford Street man faces charges of elevated aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing two people May 1 on Deering Avenue.

Scott Decker, 36, was being held in Cumberland County Jail on $5,000 bail after his May 2 arrest. Police Lt. Robert Martin said the stabbings were reported around 11 p.m. beneath the Deering Avenue bridge over Interstate 295.

The unidentified victims are a 29-year-old woman and 43-year-old man, both of whom were hospitalized.

Martin said Decker fled the scene, but was found by police at his home at 259 Oxford St. and charged after speaking with police at headquarters at 109 Middle St.
