Parade sign-up
The annual Memorial Day parade will step off at 11 a.m. on May 27 from Lincoln and South streets, proceed to Main Street and end at Eastern Cemetery for a ceremony.
Lincoln Street will be closed from 10-11 a.m. for parade formation. Groups, units, floats and individuals wishing to participate should register with Gorham Recreation Department at 222-1630.
Town’s antique homes
Linda Griffin, a real estate broker, will be the guest speaker at the Gorham Historical Society meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St.
Griffin’s topic is titled “Understanding Antique Homes in Gorham.” Those attending can take photos of homes to the meeting and Griffin will comment on architectural styles.
Concert reminder
Gorham Community Chorus will perform a spring concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Gorham High School, 41 Morrill Ave.
The concert will have a Broadway musicals theme. Admission is by donation.
U.S. taxpayer debt
The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on May 2 that the U.S. public debt was $22,028,002,290,150.87.
