CAMDEN HILLS _ Mt. Ararat rallied from a three-run deficit, earning its first win with a 16-5 victory over Camden Hills in high school softball Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference action on Thursday. 

The Eagles, 1-9 and slated to visit Messalonskee on Monday, tallied three runs in the fourth for a 4-3 lead. A six-run fifth put the Windjammers away. 

Emma Lapreziosa, Amanda O’Neill, Emily Wormwood and Bella West had three hits each for Mt. Ararat. 

Camden Hills jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on hits by Logan Craney and Hollie Murheson. Amanda McFarland and Alyssa Bland had key hits in the second for a 3-0 Windjammer advantage. 

Ema Hawkes and Jaden Lohr picked up key hits in the third to get the Eagle offense going, and Lapreziosa, Bre McCourt, West and Wormwood brought Mt. Ararat back in the fourth.

In the big fifth inning, doubles by West and Wormwood, along with singles by Hunter, O’Neill and McCourt, gave the Eagles a 10-3 lead. Mt. Ararat tacked on six more runs in the sixth, with Camille Rowe adding a run-scoring double. 

Medomak Valley 3, Morse 1

At Waldoboro, the host Panthers scored three runs in the sixth on two hits and two Shipbuilder errors for a come-from-behind KVAC win. 

Morse (5-4) was held to two hits — an RBI single by Paige Faulkingham and a single by Kaylee Creamer. 

Shipbuilder pitcher Dory Kulis tossed a three-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk. 

Mackenzie Emerson, Addy Jamesson and Eliza Nelson each singled for Medomak Valley. 

Morse is slated to visit Gray-New Gloucester today at 4 p.m. 

Edward Little 10,
Brunswick 7

The Red Eddies scored three runs in the fifth to break a tie en route to a KVAC win over the visiting Dragons at Auburn Suburban Fields. 

EL scored three runs in three separate innings, the final time breaking a 6-6 deadlock. 

The Red Eddies scored three runs in the first on two walks, a pair of Brunswick (2-7) errors and a single by Anna LeBlanc. 

The Dragons finally got to EL pitcher Chantel Ouellette in the fourth. Kelsey Sullivan drove in sister Shea Sullivan with a double. Later in the inning, Riley McAllaster blasted a two-run home run over the left-field fence to tie the game. 

EL responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Maddie Emmert picked up two RBIs with a double and later scored on a fielder’s choice for a 6-3 Red Eddie advantage. 

Back came Brunswick in the fifth, with Kelsey Sullivan again doubling to score Shea Sullivan, along with Morgan Plourde, who had singled. Kelsey Sullivan came home when Alexis Guptill reached on an error. 

LeBlanc put EL ahead to stay in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring double. Olivia Lare followed with an RBI single. 

Emmert, LeBlanc and Alexis Downs had two hits each for EL, while Kelsey Sullivan paced Brunswick with a pair of doubles. The Dragons had six hits off Ouellette, who walked five and struck out nine. Morgan Plourde and Shea Sullivan combined to allow 10 hits to the Red Eddies.

Brunswick hosts Messalonskee today at 4 p.m. 

Poland 17, Freeport 5

Kaylin O’Leary drove in six runs to power the Knights past the Falcons at Poland in makeup action. 

Poland (5-3) pulled away early, taking an 11-1 lead after two innings and adding six runs in the fourth. 

Sarah Gray had two hits for Freeport, which fell to 4-5 and hosts Lincoln Academy on Saturday at 11 a.m. 

Baseball

BATH — Jackson Walker struck out 12 over six innings, and Morse pounded out 11 hits for an 11-3 KVAC victory over Medomak Valley at Kelley Field. 

Gabe Aucoin paced the Shipbuilder (5-4) offense, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Asa Hodgdon doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a pair, with Austin Magliozzi adding a single, double, two RBIs and a run. Isaak Flaming and Ty Knowlton each doubled. 

Walker allowed four hits and four walks. Tom Warren and Flaming combined on one inning on the mound. 

Four Medomak Valley pitchers combined on 11 hits, 11 runs, five walks and five strikeouts. 

Morse visits Gray-New Gloucester today at 4 p.m. 

Lisbon 11, Hall-Dale 2

The Greyhounds scored five runs in the fifth to break things open in an 11-2 Mountain Valley Conference win over the Bulldogs at Farmingdale. 

Lucas Francis went the distance for the mound win, striking out four, walking two and permitting eight hits. 

Lisbon’s Noah Austin was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. He scored four runs, while Neil LaRochelle had three hits, including an RBI double in the fifth. Francis and Levi Levesque had two hits each, while Hunter Brissette doubled and scored three runs. 

Alec Byron picked up three hits for Hall-Dale (4-2). Akira Warren took the loss, pitching five-plus innings with five strikeouts and one walk. 

Lisbon, 7-0, is slated to host Monmouth on Monday at 4 p.m. 

Edward Little 10,
Brunswick 0

Ethan Brown needed just 46 pitches for a one-hit shutout as the quick-starting Red Eddies downed the Dragons at Auburn. 

Brown doubled during an eight-run first inning for Edward Little (7-3). 

Brunswick fell to 3-6 and is slated to host Messalonskee today at 4 p.m.

Sacopee Valley 9,
Richmond 2

At South Hiram, Class C Sacopee Valley (4-3) received four RBIs from Isaac Stocks en route to a win over the Class D Bobcats, who fell to 3-3 and hosts Forest Hills on Saturday at 11 a.m. 

Stocks allowed six hits, one walks and two earned runs. He helped himself with a two-run home run in the fourth. 

Justin Vachon had a pair of hits for Richmond. 

Boys lacrosse

FREEPORT — Leap Ngoal scored with 1:30 remaining in overtime to lift Freeport to a 10-9 Western Maine Conference win over Wells. 

The Falcons, 4-2 and slated to host Camden Hills on Saturday at 10 a.m., led 6-2 at the half. 

Wells (1-4) tied the game with less than two seconds remaining in regulation on a Harrison Briggs goal. Briggs finished with three goals. 

Steel Crawford paced Freeport with five goals, while Ngoal finished with two goals and three assists. 

Girls lacrosse

FREEPORT — Meredith Fuller tallied a hat trick to pace Freeport to a 15-2 victory over Oceanside. 

Allison Greuel, Paige Rinaldi and Molly Whelan chipped in two goals apiece for the Falcons. 

The Falcons improved to 6-1 and visit Greely on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Oceanside fell to 0-6. Hope Butler and Grace Cody scored for the Mariners.
