Brunswick’s newest restaurant and bar, Pepper’s Landing Lobster Co., opened May 6 at the Merrymeeting Plaza, 147 Bath Road, in the former Talbot’s location.

The crisp and contemporary interior brings a lift to the Brunswick dining experience. Prices are moderate and the offerings include some interesting and not often seen items, like the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer: a seafood take on Buffalo wings – fried shrimp tossed in a spicy sweet sauce with celery and blue cheese dressing.

Fried lobster is a surprise entry that I haven’t seen in years. I also thank the owners for including fried oysters, deliciously supporting local oyster farmers.

I was delighted to see the fresh seafood case just inside the entrance with several amazingly large and enticing fin fish. The hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
