Active assailant training

Gorham Deputy Police Chief Christopher Sanborn has announced a regional training exercise on Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, with the Portland Police Department and Portland School Department at Deering High School, 370 Stevens Ave., Portland.

Law enforcement agencies and medical personnel from Cumberland and York counties will be participating, Sanborn, District II (Cumberland County) training coordinator, said in a press release.

The first day will include hands on practical exercises on tactics, emergency medicine and introducing medical providers to the “warm zone.” Day 2 will be a full scale, active assailant training exercise beginning at 9 a.m.

Concert reminder

Gorham Community Chorus will perform a spring concert with a Broadway musicals theme at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Gorham High School, 41 Morrill Ave. Admission is by donation.
