BRUNSWICK — Topsham, Brunswick, Harpswell and Bath are planning a full morning of events on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.

Topsham and Brunswick’s joint parade units will begin to line up at Monument Place at 8:15 a.m. Following an 8:45 a.m. observance there, the parade will move down Main Street toward Brunswick at 9 a.m., holding another observance on the Green Bridge at 9:30 a.m.

Decorated bicycles enter the parade at 9:45 a.m., and observances at the Brunswick Mall on Maine Street begin at 11 a.m.

Several groups will perform services at Bath cemeteries Monday morning, mostly at Oak Grove Cemetery. The Sons of the Union Veterans will hold a service at 8 a.m., followed by the Women’s Auxiliary at 8:15 a.m., the Sons of the American Legion at 8:30 a.m. and the American Legion at 8:45 a.m. A wreath will be laid at Waterfront Park at 9:30 a.m.

The parade will begin assembling at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post 21 headquarters and start at 10:30 a.m. The route continues to Lincoln Street, pausing for a wreath-laying ceremony at a soldier’s monument on Centre Street, and concludes at Library Park.

Harpswell’s parade will step off at Harpswell Center between Lookout Point Road and Allen Point Road, at 11 a.m. A wreath-laying, sponsored by American Legion Post 171, will precede the parade at 10:15 a.m. at the Ewing Narrows Bridge.
