Courage House chat

Courage House, a re-entry residence for former prisoners, will host a community meeting to answer questions from residents from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St.

The residence, a historic mansion in Gorham Village, is a former fraternity house at 24 School St.

Director Al Garcia announced on Facebook that Ben Potter of Gorham has been named as the live-in manager.  

Therriault promoted

Gorham Police Department announced on Facebook that Nathan Therriault was promoted on May 10 from officer to sergeant. His new assignment will be supervisor of the midnight shift. Therriault is the department’s K-9 officer.

U.S. taxpayer debt

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on May 16 that the U.S. public debt was $22,027,466,173,302.66.
