Downtown fundraiser
Discover Downtown Westbrook is sponsoring a steak and lobster fundraiser on Thursday, May 30, with seatings at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at Brea Lu, 9 Cumberland St.
The function kicks off Westbrook Together Days weekend.
Tickets are $35, $60 for two and can be purchased at bit.ly/ddwdinner. There will also be a beer and wine garden starting at 4:30 p.m. featuring Mast Landing brews. A.O. & the K.O.s will play three sets of jazzy blues, R&B, and rock during the event.

Meet the author
Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., is hosting an author talk with Richard Cass from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 23.
Cass is the author of the Elder Darrow jazz mystery series. “Solo Act” was a finalist for the 2017 Maine Literary Awards in crime fiction. Its prequel, “In Solo Time,” won the 2018 Maine Literary Award in crime fiction. The third book in the series, “Burton’s Solo,” was released on Nov. 1.
Cass serves on the board of Mystery Writers of America’s New England Chapter and volunteers with the Maine Crime Writers.
