FALMOUTH — Voters in Falmouth approved the $37.6 million school budget Tuesday and chose three new members of the Town Council.

The top vote-getter was Janice De Lima who received 1,441 votes. The other two winners were Tommy Johnson, who got 1,408 votes, and Jay Trickett who received 1,397.

The other two candidates, Valentine Sheldon and Jim Chaousis fell short by fairly wide margins. Sheldon received 784 votes and Chaousis got 387.

The school budget was approved in a vote of 1,578 in favor to 453 against. In addition, voters approved using the budget validation referendum process for another three years.

Janice De Lima was the top vote-getter in Falmouth’s five-way race for three seats on the Town Council Tuesday.
