BATH – John “Jack” Elbert Hudson, 79, died at home Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Jack was born on Dec. 21, 1939 to John and Thelma Hudson in Brunswick.

On May 8, 1965, Jack married his sweetheart, Rita Nell Hoskins and the couple made their home in Bath to raise their three daughters.

He was employed as a meat cutter, for many years, at Sampson’s Supermarket until its closing and he was then employed at Shaw’s, until retiring at the age of 62. He was a man that loved to socialize and couldn’t bare sitting at home, so he soon returned to Shaw’s on a part time basis.

Jack loved people and people loved him. He always had a smile on his face and could bring out the best in anyone. He enjoyed social events, meeting new people and anytime he had the chance to talk with friends, he was in his glory. Jack loved his family and was very proud of them. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by all those that loved him.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rita, who passed away in 2012; his parents; a brother, Llyod Hudson, sisters, Sonja Nadeau, and Nancy Boucher.

He is survived by his three daughters, Debbie Fuller and her husband, Jon of South Gardiner, Melissa York and her husband, James of Phippsburg, Kelly Wyman and her husband, Edward of Bath; grandchildren, Melissa Paquette and her husband, Mike of Sidney, Jonathan Fuller of Deland, Fla., Erika Duval and her husband, Justin of Brunswick, Andrew Wyman and his wife, Nikki of Hollis, James York III of Woolwich; great-grandchildren, Daimian, Dominick, Hunter, Aubrey, Alexa, Bella, Gabriella, Jack and Emma; sisters, Barbara Tibbetts and Jeannette Arsenault, brothers, David Hudson, Peter Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath.
