BRUNSWICK — Cylene is a repeat pet in “Pet of the Week,” but she has been waiting for a home at Midcoast Humane for over 500 days, so we’re reminding everyone just how wonderful she is. This 3-year-old mixed breed dog knows sit, paw and roll over, and she’s eager to learn more.

She will know she’s forever home when she has a yard to run and fetch balls in. Her absolute favorite thing is to be tucked into her bed with a comfy blanket. She is food-motivated and guards her possessions (food, rawhides, toys), so it’s important that her human companions be 16 years or older. No cats, though the right dog could work after a meet and greet at the shelter.

Cylene is a featured animal in our No Paw Left Behind initiative, which helps long-term, overlooked pets find their forever homes. Our goal at Midcoast Humane is to find homes for every dog and cat find a family within 90 days of going up for adoption.  Cylene is our longest-term resident.

Midcoast Humane will provide up to three free one-on-one training sessions with our staff dog trainer at our Pleasant Street facility or in your home, provided you don’t live too far away. Cylene’s fee is waived to the right family. She is currently located at Midcoast Humane’s Edgecomb campus. To meet Cylene, call 207-449-1366 ext. 302 to schedule a visit.

If you’re not in a position to adopt Cylene, you can help every animal find a home by following and sharing our “No Paw Left Behind” animals’ stories at facebook.com/MHNoPawLeftBehind. Learn about more ways to help at midcoasthumane.org/NoPawLeftBehind.
