KENNEBUNK — Habitat for Humanity of York County’s “Framing the Future” held June 13 at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport  raised more than $13,000 which will support Habitat’s affordable housing mission in York County.

More than 100 people attended the event which featured music by Lisa Mills, Jim O’Neill and Byon Yeatts, donated artwork and gift certificates from local businesses and individuals. The top Silent Auction item was four club-level tickets to a Boston Red Sox game.

Of major interest were items repurposed by 25 artists, crafters, and DIY’ers who donated their time and talent to repurpose items from the Habitat ReStore in Kennebunk.

None of this would have been possible without generous sponsors, donors, re-purposers, and volunteers and Habitat officials say that they would like to thank the Nonantum Resort for hosting the event, Lisa Mills and friends who supplied the music, and dessert from Kitchen Chicks and Russo Italian Bakery.

Habitat officials also expressed a major thank you to sponsors for the event: Kennebunk Savings Bank, the Nonantum Resort, Town and Country Credit Union, Garrett Pillsbury Plumbing and Heating, Moody’s Collision, John Codman, and Hank and Elisa McCaffrey.

The organization currently has many opportunities to volunteer on the Springvale and Limerick Build, at the ReStore, or assisting with weatherization projects.

Anyone interested in participating or donating to Habitat is encouraged to call the Habitat office at 985-4850 or visit the website at www.habitatyorkcounty.org.
