GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — Jennifer Gawronski of Saco, graduated from Adelphi University at commencement ceremonies on May 19 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Gawronski earned a Bachelor of Social Work in Social Work Summa Cum Laude.

Adelphi confererred degrees on 1,950 students at its 123rd commencement exercises.

“As you all perform in various professional sectors, strive to be like the dancers of American Ballet Theatre and produce believable work,” Kevin McKenzie, artistic director of American Ballet Theatre, who received an honorary doctorate during the ceremonies, told graduates. “Make my generation believe in you — make future generations recognize the truth of your actions. We are your audience members and partners. And please remember: it’s all about the balance.”
