BATH – Dorothy A. Libby, 89, of Bath, passed away peacefully at MidCoast Hospital on Aug. 6, 2019.

She was born in Bath on Dec. 10, 1929, the daughter of Roy and Avis Bradford of Bath. She attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1947.

After graduation, she was employed at Sears & Roebuck in Bath. In 1948, she married Hilton F. Libby of Bath. In 1961 she started working at the Bath Memorial Hospital in the business office and retired in 2007 after 46 years of service.

Dottie was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and the Bath Country Club for over 30 years. She was treasurer of the Woman’s Golf League for many years. Her hobbies included knitting children’s sweaters and mittens for local craft fairs. She was a great lover of animals, especially her beloved cat, Benji. She and her husband were

very active in sports for many years, including golf, bowling, bicycling, skiing, swimming and dancing. For many years they spent winter vacations playing golf in Florida.

Dottie is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Hilton F. Libby; and daughter, Gayle Libby. She is survived by her son, Greg and his wife, Kathleen of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Kelly Marvel and her husband, K. Andrew and Andrew Libby and his wife, Alecia. Also, four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Ashley and Justin Marvel and

Bernadette Libby of Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Hill House, the nurses and staff for taking such wonderful care of Dottie.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Desmond Funeral Home of Bath. Date and time for graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
