I would like to thank Gary Anderson for his letter regarding the “Corridor of Discontent” (Aug. 15) — the late massacre of the trees between Brunswick and Bath. I travel this road often and consider it one of the most beautiful patches of scenery in mid coast Maine (especially in the fall) and I was frankly horrified to see those trees being cut down without any thought about the beauty being destroyed.

Something needs to be done to prevent any more senseless acts of destroying our scenic beauty.

There can be a balance between wholesale cutting of 31 acres of gorgeous trees and safety. Let’s not do it again. Let’s put a process in place so it can’t happen again like this.
