Rosie the dog is available for adoption through Midcoast Humane (Contributed photo via Midcoast Humane)

Rosie is a four-and-a-half-year-old black and tan coonhound/Shepherd mix. If you’re looking for a jogging or hiking partner, look no further. In her last home, she walked two miles every day, but would have gladly gone farther.

She has excellent leash manners but can be wary of new people, particularly men, so Midcoast Humane will give her new family tips on how best to introduce her to new visitors in the home, as she can take a little time to warm up to strangers. She is very smart and eager to please. She knows the commands sit, stay and lie down. Please call 207-449-1366 to set up a meet and greet with Rosie.

Thanks to a generous donor, Rosie’s adoption fee is waived. Additionally, Midcoast Humane will provide Rosie and her new family up to three, free one-on-one training sessions with our staff dog trainer at our facility or in her new home, provided it isn’t too far from the shelter.

If you’re not in a position to adopt Rosie, you can help every animal find a home by following and sharing our “No Paw Left Behind” animals’ stories at facebook.com/MHNoPawLeftBehind. Learn about more ways to help at midcoasthumane.org/NoPawLeftBehind.
