ROCHESTER, N.H. – Two York County women driving separate vehicles collided at an intersection in Rochester, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, sending both of them and a passenger in one of the vehicles to an area hospital.

In a news release issued Thursday morning, Rochester Police said that the crash took place at the intersection of Highland Street and Salmon Falls Road. The time of day was not provided.

Police said officers found that Sandra Fowler, 57, of Sanford, was traveling eastbound on Highland Street and entered the intersection of Salmon Falls Road driving a Hummer H3. Jennie Hindmarch, 43, of Wells, was approaching the intersection from the opposite direction on Highland Street driving a Hyundai Santa Fe and turned left onto Salmon Falls Road ahead of Fowler’s vehicle.

The two vehicles collided resulting in significant damage to both vehicles, and airbag deployment in both vehicles.

Hindmarch and her adult passenger were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New Hampshire, for non-life threatening injuries, police said in the statement.

Neither Hindmarch nor her passenger were wearing seat belts. Hindmarch was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way, described by police as a violation-level offense.

Fowler was also transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries; she was wearing a seat belt, police said.
