The Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary’s Annual Membership Drive is returning, with the goal of recruiting new Auxilians and renewing current memberships.
The Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary is a group of people who support the hospital’s mission to deliver outstanding healthcare in the community. The auxiliary leads several annual fundraising activities throughout the year, providing significant financial resources to the hospital.
Fundraising proceeds come from a variety of sources, including the Mid Coast Hospital Gift Shop, which is open year-round, the Sweet Valentine Bake Sale in February, the Used Book Sale in April, and the Grand & Glorious Yard Sale in May. Funds are also raised through annual dues ($15 per member) and monetary gifts.
This year’s spring events were especially successful, according to a news release, with the Used Book Sale and Grand & Glorious Yard Sale raising a combined total of more than $61,0000. Since its founding in 2001, the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary has contributed more than $1.5 million toward the hospital’s projects and its health career scholarship fund.
Auxiliary members also support the hospital through volunteering. In 2019, they have contributed more than 5,000 hours to Mid Coast Hospital, working in a variety of areas including the hospital’s café, information desk and gift shop.
“The Auxiliary provides members with a tight-knit group of passionate people with whom to connect,” said Joyce Morgan, president of the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary. “I encourage both men and women to consider joining us in supporting the health of our community.”
Membership is open year-round. Anyone interested in joining can visit www.midcoasthealth.com/auxiliary for more information and an online application.
