Francis G. Pinette Sr.

DURHAM – Francis G. Pinette Sr., 92 of Cedar Pond Road died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, with his family by his side.
He was born in Brunswick on Feb. 18, 1927, the son of Alphonse and Cecile Beauregard Pinette.
On Nov. 26, 1949 he married Patricia L. Guenther. 
From 1945-1947 he served in the U.S. Army. 
For 38 years Mr. Pinette worked at Bath Iron Works as a sign painter.
Francis enjoyed spending quality time with his family and was always ready to help with anything they needed. After retirement he wintered with his wife in Edgewater, Fla. for the past 30 years. During the winters he enjoyed shrimping and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Francis loved any outdoor activities.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Club and American Legion all in Edgewater, Fla.
He was predeceased by his wife.
Surviving is a son, Francis G. Pinette Jr. and his wife Patricia A. Pinette of Durham, a daughter, Gale L. Mailman and Michael Norton of Durham; a brother, Roland Pinette of Fort Pierce, Fla., two sisters, Jeanne Williams of Silverhill, Ala. and Jacqueline Sargent of Fort Pierce, Fla; four grandchildren, Nicole Richards and her husband Chris of Greenville, Scott Mailman and his fiance Jess of Poland, Michelle Pinette and her fiance Linden and Amy Mailman of Durham. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 4 at 10 a.m. at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. Interment with military honors will follow at Sawyer Cemetery Royalsborough Road Durham.
