NEW GLOUCESTER — No injuries were reported after a recreational vehicle parked near 210 Weymouth Road caught fire over the weekend.
Crews from New Gloucester and Gray fire/rescue departments arrived at the scene at 1:47 p.m. Feb. 14 to find the RV engulfed in flames, according to a press release from New Gloucester Fire Rescue Capt. Hale Fitzgerald. The fire also damaged a recreational boat parked behind the RV. The release did not say if the RV’s owner was at the scene.
“Crews were hindered by a propane tank that began to release gas via its pressure relief valve,” Fitzgerald said, but they were able to knock down the fire by 2:07 p.m. and gain full control by 2:30.
