BRUNSWICK — Yarmouth opened a 28-4 halftime advantage Thursday and remained undefeated by earning a 51-34 girls’ basketball victory over Brunswick.

Katelyn D’Appolonia scored 16 points, and Calin McGonagle and Margaret McNeil added 12 apiece for the Clippers (4-0).

Logan Brown collected 17 points, five rebounds and three steals for Brunswick (2-2), which got as close as 10 in the fourth quarter. Morgan Foster chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

SACOPEE VALLEY 29, POLAND 25: Jalyn Stacey scored 16 points, and the Hawks (1-2) held off a fourth-quarter comeback bid by the Knights (1-3) in Poland

Kylie Day added 11 points for Sacopee, which led 21-11 after three quarters.

Gabrielle Bolduc had nine points for Poland.

BOOTHBAY 44, RICHMOND 32: Jaclyn Crocker led the Seahawks (3-5) with 16 points and nine rebounds in a win over the Bobcats (0-4) at Boothbay Harbor.

Glory Blethen added nine points and 11 rebounds.

Lila Viselli and Sophie Wells each scored 10 points for Richmond.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

BIDDEFORD 54, MASSABESIC 49: Will Harriman scored 24 points to pace the Tigers (1-2) to a win over the Mustangs (0-1) in Biddeford.

Julius Silva added 17 points, including five buckets from behind the arc.

Trevor Beals led Massabesic with 14 points, while Isaiah Searles tossed in 13.

YARMOUTH 48, BRUNSWICK 34: Peter Psyhogeos scored eight of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to fuel a 16-3 run for the Clippers (3-1) as they pulled away from the Dragons (1-3) in Yarmouth.

Will Cox added nine points.

Evan Kilfoil paced Brunswick with 15 points.

POLAND 61, SACOPEE VALLEY 37: Isaiah Hill made five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points as the Knights (2-1) beat the Hawks (0-3) in Hiram.

Hunter Gibson contributed 15 points and Hayden Christner tossed in 12.

Preston Howland led Sacopee Valley with 16 points. McGwire Sawyer scored 15.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 4, KENNEBUNK 0: Will Gordon and Sebastian Moon each scored twice for the Capers (2-0) in a win over the Rams (0-1) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Gordon opened the scoring with a power-play goal midway through the first half on a feed from Nick Laughlin. Moon’s two goals, assisted by Devin Blackburn and Connor Goss, increased the lead to 3-0, and Gordon got his second goal in the second half, assisted by Oskar Frankwicz.

PORTLAND 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Dante Tocci scored twice to lead Portland/Deering to a win over South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete at Troubh Ice Arena.

Colby Winship and Nick McGonagle got the other goals for Portland/Deering.

Dylan Hannan scored both goals for South Portland.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 2, CHEVERUS 0: Ali Mokriski scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and set up a power-play goal by Maya Sellinger in the third as the Red Storm (3-0) defeated Cheverus/Old Orchard Beach (0-2) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Calynn Gendreau and Kimi Hurer assisted on Mokriski’s goal. Ariella Swett recorded the shutout.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3, LEWISTON 2: Lilly Weinrich and Michala Wallace each had a goal and an assist to lift the Panthers over the Blue Devils at Travis Roy Arena.

Kailyn McIntyre also scored for NYA.

Paige Pomerleau had a goal and an assist for Lewiston, which also got a goal from Leah Dube.
