ORONO — Blanca Millan and Anne Simon each scored 21 points, and Maine ended its women’s basketball regular season with an 82-53 win Saturday afternoon against New Hampshire.

Kelly Fogarty and Maeve Carroll each added 12 points for the Black Bears (15-2, 12-2 America East), who opened a 24-9 advantage after one quarter and stretched it to 48-21 at halftime.

Amanda Torres led UNH (5-14, 5-11) with 16 points.

Maine, the No. 1 seed in the America East tournament, is now idle until the conference semifinals on March 7.

(24) NORTHWESTERN 67, WISCONSIN 54: Sydney Wood and Lindsey Pulliam scored 14 points as the Wildcats (12-5, 10-5 Big Ten) beat the Badgers (5-15, 2-15) in Evanston, Illinois.

(25) SAN DIEGO STATE 75, FRESNO STATE 57: Jordan Schakel scored 14 points on perfect shooting, with four 3-pointers, and the Aztecs (17-4, 11-3 Mountain West) defeated the Bulldogs (9-9, 7-9) in Fresno, California.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

UNE 1, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Jessie Scott’s unassisted goal late in the second period gave the Nor’easters a season-opening win over the Huskies (1-1) at USM Ice Arena.

Julia Benjamin made 22 saves for the shutout. USM goalie Haley McKim stopped 27 shots.

MAINE 1, HOLY CROSS 1: Olivia King’s goal late in the first period for Maine (7-8-1) offset an earlier goal by Millie Sirum of Holy Cross (4-14-1) as the teams played to a tie in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Loryn Porter made 27 saves for Maine.
