PORTLAND — Work on Elm Street is planned to repave and restripe the road and repair sections of sidewalk and curbing from Congress Street to Marginal Way.

A meeting for the public to review the plans and offer feedback is set for Wednesday, March 11, at 5 p.m. via Zoom. Those interested in attending or who have questions about the work should contact Lauren Andersen, project manager, at landersen@portlandmaine.gov.

Another project a block away also will impact traffic in that area through late March.

Preble Street is closed to through traffic between Congress Street and Cumberland Avenue now through March 22 so the roof can be repaired on the Time & Temp Building at 477 Congress St. Pedestrian access is permitted and the People’s United bank turnaround and drive-up area is accessible. METRO will detour bus routes during the closure and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route during this time.
