SACO — Want to help build a house?  Habitat for Humanity’s International Women Build Week is an annual event created by Habitat in partnership with Lowe’s that invites women to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing.

Habitat for Humanity York County will join the Women Build Week celebration, and because of restrictions due to COVID-19, the agency will host a week of virtual programming and use it as a peer-to-peer fundraising effort for the upcoming Saco build, where Sarah Thibault and her children will be able to own a home with a an affordable mortgage. The theme is Women Building Up Women.

Registrants will have access to a week of events including Meet the Homeowner, Keynote Speakers including a message from Governor Janet Mills, a special Zoom Advocacy Event, Zoom Yoga, Green Building and more How to Videos from women of Maine.

People may support Habitat’s Women Build event by registering for the virtual series, and organizers say  there are registration levels to match all budgets. Each level gives participants access to all virtual events and access to the Women Build Participant Fundraising page.
