SCARBOROUGH — Citing a similar focus on supporting the local communities, Town & Country Federal Credit Union and Makers of Maine podcast have announced a new partnership that will expand the support and awareness for the creative and innovative spirit that is strong and growing stronger in Maine.

“We have a long-standing dedication to supporting the community and entrepreneurial spirit in Maine, as well as highlighting local organizations and businesses so this is an ideal match,” said David Libby, President and CEO of Town & Country FCU. “Makers of Maine is an exciting podcast that is introducing listeners to entrepreneurs and products and services that contribute to our local economy and way of life. Our partnership will bring further awareness to the great things happening in our communities and reinforce the many ways that we can assist with these endeavors, and introduce credit unions to new audiences. The TCFCU ‘Local Helping Local’ initiative highlights the many ways we can and do make a difference in strengthening our local communities. The impact of COVID-19 on individuals, small businesses and many others has been significant and continues so this is another channel to bring attention and support at a time when it is still truly needed.”

In the past year, Town & Country’s ‘Local Helping Local’ initiative has highlighted and supported hundreds of local small businesses, non-profits and other community organizations. “This is a natural extension of our ‘Local Helping Local’ campaign, and its commitment to helping to keep our local economy and communities vibrant and growing,” said Jon Paradise, SVP of Marketing, Communications and Community Outreach for the credit union.Kristan Vermeulen, founder and host, launched the podcast to “showcase the journey and work of Makers throughout the state of Maine. This podcast truly celebrates the great people and stories that make Maine such a special place — a place of community, creativity and support.” Vermeulen said the new partnership with Town & Country FCU is a perfect fit “because Town & Country is all about helping local people and local communities. What the credit union does to positively make a difference in people’s lives and make where we live a better a place is awesome. I am excited to share the Town & Country story with our listeners and to showcase the credit union as the official financial institution of the Makers of Maine podcast.”

Makers of Maine has been featured on a number of national media outlets, including “Good Morning America,” as well as profiled through various state and regional media stories.
