The South Portland War Veterans Memorial Association is requesting permission from the city to hold a Memorial Day parade and ceremony at the veterans memorial in Mill Creek Park.
The association has also sent requests for support to the South Portland High School music director and plans to make similar requests to the South Portland Middle School bands.
Last year, the association canceled plans for both the Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades due to pandemic restrictions. Members plan to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Stewart P. Morrill American Legion Post, 413 Broadway, South Portland, presumably to discuss this year’s Memorial Day ceremonies.
