Jacqueline A. (Gowing) Niznik

WELLS – Jacqueline A. (Gowing) Niznik, 54, of Wells passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family after an 11-year fight with ovarian cancer.

Jackie, born in Nashua, N.H., was the daughter of Frederick and Winifred (Nadeau) Gowing and was a graduate of Alvern High School and Rivier University, both in Nashua, N.H. She worked in New Hampshire before she and her husband, David Niznik, moved to Wells to raise their family.

An enthusiastic organic gardener and lover of animals, she was also a long-time volunteer for Safe Haven Humane Society in Wells.

She is survived by her loving husband, David; her parents, Winifred and Frederick Gowing; her daughter, Liz Niznik, and sons, Andrew Niznik and Brian Niznik; her sister, Deborah Welch; her godmother, Laurette Wardwell; and many other beloved relatives and friends.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd. Wells. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 14 at 2 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Wells, with interment to follow in Oceanview Cemetery, Wells.
